425 BUSINESS - Gov. Bob Ferguson has proclaimed this week as Washington Space Week to recognize the state’s role in the global space industry, which generates an estimated $4.6 billion in direct economic output annually in the state, with a total statewide impact exceeding $7 billion when including supply-chain and workforce effects.

Ferguson signed a formal proclamation Sept. 25 designating Oct. 4-10 as Washington Space Week, a designation that will continue annually in the first week of the month, according to a news release today from Space Northwest.
