Jeff Bezos Says Blue Origin Will Likely Pursue an IPO within Several Years

QUARTZ - Billionaire founder Jeff Bezos said Wednesday that Blue Origin is likely to pursue an initial public offering within several years, offering his clearest indication yet that the space company could seek a stock market listing.

"I think, someday, Blue Origin will have an IPO," Bezos said on Fox News Channel's "Special Report with Bret Baier." "It would be several years from now. But it probably makes sense for Blue Origin to be a public company at some point."

Bezos said he now sees "the financial future of Blue with some clarity," and added that the company may take in more outside capital beyond the $10 billion it is raising from external investors for the first time.
