VIA SATELLITE - BlackSky reported record service revenue in the second quarter of 2026, driven by adoption of its Gen-3 satellite solutions.

The company reported total revenue of $33 million in Q2, up 50% from the prior year. Revenue from space-based intelligence & AI services was $24.5 million during the quarter, up 36% year-over-year.

BlackSky CEO Brian O’Toole told investors on Thursday the company’s Gen-3 satellites drove the momentum in the second quarter. BlackSky began deploying its Gen-3 satellites last year. These satellites are designed to deliver 35-centimeter imagery with sub-hourly image collection speeds.

Note: BlackSky's Gen-3 satellites are designed and manufactured by LeoStella in Tukwila.
