SEATTLE TIMES - Asian Family Market made its splashy Tukwila debut Friday morning with a megastore boasting 300 different instant ramen and 200 different frozen dumplings.

The 44,000-square-foot supermarket at 17501 Southcenter Parkway, Suite 100, just south of Westfield Southcenter, is the largest Asian Family Market to date, owner Ken Tan said. The local chain’s other specialty grocery stores are in North Seattle, Beaverton, Ore., and Bellevue, where its flagship debuted in 2007.

Like Uwajimaya or T&T Supermarket, Asian Family Market is a major player in the Seattle-area gourmet grocery scene. Its original supermarket anchors Bellevue Marketplace shopping center, which has become the de facto Chinatown of the Eastside.
